About Us

Hi, I'm Emily, the proud owner and creator of Kozy Kandles, a small, woman-owned business nestled in downtown New Albany, Indiana. Since the summer of 2016, I've been hand-pouring each candle in small batches with intention and ethics, officially launching Kozy Kandles that fall. Candles have been a staple in my life, and I was inspired to make my own due to how they transform a space.

The joy and passion I found in this creative process were invigorating. The "K's" in our name honor my Mawmaw, Kay Gray, who passed away on October 12th, 2016.

I started candle-making during my time as a student-athlete at IUS, finding it both enjoyable and therapeutic. Taking my creations to social media and pop-up markets allowed me to connect with the community and share my passion.

Reflecting on the journey, I'm amazed at Kozy Kandles' growth, made possible by an incredible community that has supported my brand and dreams. I am truly grateful for your support of this special small business. If you're local, come visit us and explore our scents!

Our eco-luxe soy candles are handcrafted with natural soy wax, cotton wicks, and a phthalate-free, toxin-free, and carcinogen-free blend of fragrance and essential oils. Soy candles burn cleaner and longer than paraffin-based alternatives, benefiting the environment, your health, and supporting domestic farmers.

While soy candles are unique in their own right, Kozy Kandles offer more than just fragrance. They're designed to evoke the warmest feelings and fill your home with inviting aromas that create cherished memories. Our candles wrap your home and heart in warmth and cozy moments.

My friend recommended this space for an outing and we had a great time. We were running late for our candle bar appt and called to let them know. They were very kind and understanding. When we arrived, everything was ready for us to get started. They explained the process in detail, were helpful in pairing down scents, and patient when I felt like it took me forever to make a decision!! The space is so inviting and the candle I created is PERFECT!! The price range is huge, making it great for those who just want to spend a little, or for those who are ready to spend a lot! Next time we go we're taking our daughters!

Such a fun experience! They have perfected the Cozy vibe & have plenty of scents to choose from. It felt clean & service was awesome. They had some plants, perfumes, room sprays & other things for sale. You do pay a reservation fee or if you don't have reservations & they're able to do walk-ins you pay a sitting fee. We paid $10 a piece. Plus whatever candle size you choose. It was worth it in my opinion & I will definitely be back. They have a shop cat named Meme & I loved her.

My mom and I had so much fun making our own candles! Not only was the experience high quality, but the candles really do have a wonderful scent - not too strong, but maintains over the months - and burn much more cleanly than other candles I’ve purchased. There’s also a sweet cat who lives there, which was a plus, and I picked up one of their perfumes and wear it almost every day now! Do not sleep on this place as a fantastic outing for friends, family, or date night!

I love that the candles are high quality, have a clean burn and that the fragrances are clean. Emily puts her heart and soul into everything it does, and it shows in the authenticity and quality of her business. I always love bringing friends and family to stop by and get candles too. The Kozy Bar is so much fun and a great date night or girls night experience. I can’t reccomend Kozy enough and express the joy that it’s brought me throughout the last 5 years! Candles are magical at Kozy!
